Man's Best Friend

When storm's hit, the first things you think of are your family and home. We hope you include your furry best friend in that group with your family. Dogs, cats, and other animals can have heightened senses during storm season. Some animals even get shaky and ill during a bad thunderstorm. When bad storms hit, like tornadoes and hurricanes, there are a few ways to help keep your pet safe. Here are some tips from the Red Cross on Pet Safety items to pack up before a big storm:

  • Vet Records
  • Leashes and Harnesses
  • Safety Kit
  • Non-perishable dog food

When there are less serious storms, keeping thunder jackets, or a special place away from noise readily available can help. During a storm, having these places available can help an animal's anxiety from the loud sounds.

Pets truly are our family, so follow these tips to keep them safe during storms.
